"Lucid Lake Pictures is my tribute to the golden era of horror—the gritty, dream-soaked world of 1980s genre films that shaped my imagination and creative voice. The name itself is a fusion of two iconic elements: Lucid, drawn from the surreal, nightmarish landscape of A Nightmare on Elm Street, reflects the blurred line between dreams and reality that fuels so much of my storytelling; Lake evokes the chilling, isolated terror of Crystal Lake from the Friday the 13th series, grounding my work in the visceral, suspense-driven horror that defined that era. Through Lucid Lake Pictures, I aim to capture the spirit of those classic films—raw, atmospheric, and unapologetically eerie—while channeling it into original stories that speak to both nostalgia and new nightmares."

Jason Pitts

As a director, Jason was deeply shaped by the horror films of the 1980s—an era defined by practical effects, bold storytelling, and unforgettable villains. Those movies sparked his obsession with the genre, but over time, he developed a voice that blends that nostalgic influence with a modern, psychological edge. He strives to create horror that’s both atmospheric and character-driven, where the fear lingers long after the credits roll. His work is a reflection of the past he grew up with, reimagined through a lens that’s uniquely his own.
Julia Borkowski
Casting Director/Producer
Julia D. Borkowski is the Casting Director for Lucid Lake Pictures through her agency, JB Talent Konnections. She also serves as a Producer and Assistant Director, bringing strong organizational and creative skills to every project. Julia specializes in casting, production, and assistant directing, helping ensure that each project runs smoothly from start to finish.
Lee LaMarche
Writer/Producer
Lee LaMarche is the founder of Fiction Filmmakers and a champion of Arkansas film. He wrote the short film "Old Friends" and also wrote and produced the award-winning short "Bruisers". Lee is proud to work with the Lucid Lake Team and can often be found writing in all genres imaginable.
Marilyn Knapp
Actress/Producer/Locations
Marilyn Knapp is an actress located in northwest Arkansas. Having begun her acting career late in life, she is grateful to have appeared in 17 productions. The most recent features she has appeared in are The Forest Through The Trees and Trail Of Vengeance. Marilyn is a long-time board member of Your Media and has recently joined the board of Women In Film Arkansas.
Carla Nemec
Production Designer
Carla Nemec is a Springdale native who spent over 30 years working in the motion picture industry. After an early career in Arkansas radio and television, she moved to Los Angeles to become an Art Department Coordinator, working with all the major studios on blockbuster films
like Jumanji, Deepwater Horizon, Ad Astra, the first three Pirates of the
Caribbean films, Twister, Fantastic 4, Patriot Games, Constantine, Panic Room, Rum Diary, Black Hawk Down, Three Kings, Fast & Furious 5, The Amazing Spiderman, The Abyss, Terminator II, Westworld-S1, True Detective-S3, and many more.
Since semi-retiring and returning to Arkansas, Carla has become active in the local film community, working on several NWA films. She’s recently production designed The Forest
Through the Trees and Inthralled. She remains passionate about encouraging the next generation
of young artists with her involvement in the Ozark Media Arts Festival and Generational
Journeys Mentor/Apprentice Program. Her greatest joy is time with her amazing family!
Sahlah Tepes
SFX Artist
Sahlah Tepes is an SFX artist, located in NW Arkansas. A lifelong curiosity about how movie monsters are made and working in a haunted house in 2014 were the sparks that ignited the flame. A forever-student with the Stan Winston School of Character Arts, Sahlah has worked on projects with Tate Steinsiek and Tim Gore. Sahlah has also worked as lead, or SFX Supervisor, on several movies which include Voorhees, Night of the Beast, Voorhees, After the Beast, Inthralled (post-production), The Tower (post-production), The Threesome (post production), The Emerald Forest, The Forest Through The Trees, Night Stop and currently Lead makeup and SFX design for Midnight Movies Haunted Attraction due to open this year (2025).
